ROCHESTER, NY (September 29, 2012) - William LaForte, chairperson of the Sojourner House at PathStone, Inc. Board of Directors, and Stuart J Mitchell, president and CEO of PathStone Corporation, are pleased to announce the recent appointment of Beth MacAller as the new Executive Director of Sojourner House at PathStone, Inc. Sojourner House and PathStone Corporation merged their administrative and programmatic operations through an affiliation agreement formalized on August 1, 2009. PathStone Corporation provides critically important affordable housing and other vital community services throughout the Rochester region.
MacAller will succeed Kathryn Bryan, Senior Vice President for Property Management at PathStone Corporation. Ms. Bryan has served as interim executive director for the last year. Mitchell stated, ” Ms. Bryan has provided extraordinary leadership during her tenure. Sojourner is operating at capacity and our operating budget is balanced. Under Bryan’s leadership Sojourner has expanded resident services to hundreds of families in need of a safe, affordable and permanent living arrangement.”
Since 1982 Sojourner House, has assisted over 2000 women and their families obtain the necessary sobriety, education, employment, family stability, and financial independence to lead productive and fulfilling lives. Sojourner’s transformative intervention strategy provides inspiration, hope and motivation for women who are at a crisis point in their lives. Participants learn essential life skills, which then give them strength, structure and stability to lead meaningful and productive lives.
“Beth MacAller brings a wealth of experience to Sojourner house. We are thrilled to have her proven record of accomplishments and knowledge of our community to the position of our Executive Director. Her work at the YMCA has prepared her extraordinarily well to lead Sojourner House,” said LaForte.
Since 2000, MacAller has served in various roles with the YMCA of Greater Rochester with the most recent being the Director of Community Partnerships and Foundation Relations. In that position, MacAller was responsible for developing and managing relationships with community partners and identifying and recruiting funding sources from a variety of public as well as private donors. MacAller has represented the YMCA on many community initiatives designed to address social and economic needs, expand educational opportunities and create networks of support and opportunity for city families. MacAller is a seasoned administrator and has served as interim executive director at several YMCA branch operations during her tenure.
